Our mugs are roughly 4.5” tall and 3.25” wide (4.75” long with handle), and can hold approximately 12 ounces of fluid.

All of our work is hand-made on the pottery wheel using a rich, brown stoneware clay body. Once bisque fired, we glaze the pieces in our custom glazes & fire everything in a gas reduction atmosphere to cone 11/12 (about 2370*F). Finished pieces are always safe for food use as well as use in the dishwasher, microwave and oven.

The mug was not what I'd expected, having ordered one of the purple varieties. The purple one had a smooth and glassy finish, but this one is matte, almost rough in texture. This is not a problem for tea, coffee, water, or any other non-carbonated beverage, but if you drink beer or soda from it, prepare for it to go flat relatively quickly, as the textured surface adds many microscopic nucleation sites for bubbles to form and fizz. Nevertheless, it's a very well-built mug, solid and sturdy. It feels like you're drinking from an artifact that would had been dug up, cleaned, and restored, which is by no means a bad thing if that's what you're interested in. A great mug and recommended, so long as you're aware of its qualities.
